I am hoping to close a deal this week on a 1993 Aquasport Osprey 200. It has spent the last 20 years on a covered lift on a freshwater lake. It's registration is still 94. It has a 130 Yamaha and an aluminum single axle trailer. The shop cleaned the tanks, and is servicing the motor. They want 7k. Too much? Going to offer 5k.

Offer the $5K, see where you guys end up at. But make sure you take her for a serious sea trial before committing anything! Put the motor through it's paces, and spend some time out there. If they don't want to sea trial, look elsewhere...

I climbed inside yesterday. The story is the original owner used it freshwater, kept it on a covered lift, and it sat on that lift the last 10 years. The lockers and livewell look unused. The nonskid surface has no wear. All upholstery has little wear. No soft spots. On port side, small fiberglass damage behind the rubrail is the only blemish. Aluminum trailer was serviced, new bunk carpet, 130 Yamaha being serviced. New seals, fuel pump, carbs rebuilt, new water pump, plugs, battery. I know what he paid, what he's put in, and I think the package is worth it . Will go for demo ride, and 7k is my limit.

Good luck
Remind them when the negotiation process begins that it is still a '93.....and is only worth so much. Downplay the condition. If they won't bite at 5 try 55 and tell them that's all you have budgeted. Then throw the green on the table. Tough walking away from the green.
That's what the car dealers do to me...and it works

I would love to see a few photos of this model boat even if you don't purchase it.
Any chance of that happening?

X2 per Capt Bob. That boat would be a good deal at 5k or 5.5k in IMHO, ESP, If that's a freshwater boat. Good luck and keep us posted.
