Where to get Weather and tide information
« on: March 15, 2013, 06:03:11 PM »
I plan on going out next Sunday and I wanted to know where to get tide and weather information for the Long Island South bay?

I have a chart plotter and depth guage but does not help me when I get to the pier or when I come back to trailer back home.

My old Garmin has tides built into it - check yours, maybe it does too and you can pick the location where you want the tide info.

For me, I like weather underground, it's a NOAA fed website, I believe this is your forecast and the tides are further down the page.  Also water temps, and BTW you can keep those temps   I've never seen deep purple, and don't care to.... Have fun.

Free app for Iphone called tideApp (Icon is blue with a sailboat on it).  I also have NOAA Marine Weather links which you can customize for your exact location.   Makes getting Marine and Tide info very easy..  See pic below.

If you like to fish, tides4fishing.com has some advanced tide/moon info. I I'm looking forward to testing their predictors this season. Great information.
