1973 19-6 Question

Hello , I'm new to your site. I found a 1973 19-6 hull , no motor or trailer with a title . I would like to restore from stringers up. Is it worth the 1000.00 dollars owner is asking? , Boat looks good and is solid but I really want to do this so I know what's in the boat . Thank You in advance to any replies.

If the boat is "solid" as you say, then 1k is a good starting point for negotiation.

Thank You , I really don't know what the values of the older boats are , based on overall conditions , etc. Again Thank You and I will post what happens this week with the boat.

Old boats are worth what someone is willing to pay.
My 19-6 was found on craigslist and I got it with a crap trailer and 86 150 Johnson for 300 bucks. The guy I bought it from had only owned it 1 week and had bought it from his neighbor. He only paid him 160 dollars. He doubled his money in one week. Yes it a total restore project but a very viable one.

I have to agree with gran and slvring, 1k might be on the high side, hull only, walk on the floor of it and see if you have any soft spots, open hatches and take a mirror and small flashlight and look up under the floor for obvious signs of rot or cracking..don't mean to rain on anyones parade but if it's all solid and in good shape, I would start at $500 and go from there...you never know they may bite. I know that I paid $700 for my hull on a tandem axle trailer 2 yrs ago, and probably should have paid less ( total rewire, trailer rebuild and the next year had to do the floor) :(  ....you need to look at stuff like has it been rewired what shape is the transom in, hull blisters etc. Good luck

We paid 700 for one, a few soft spots in the bottom... with a decent galv trailer and killer stereo, some nifty wiring and switches... and no motor about a year ago.
