Draft 17vs19vs22
« on: December 11, 2012, 05:15:39 AM »
Been using my redone early model 17 quite a bit & iam really impressed on how skinny I can go with the 90 Yammy on back.
Getting ready for next next project prob 19 flatback.
What kind of draft can I expect compared to the 17 & any draft Input on 22
Iam no Keys fisherman but do have an occasional issue were I keep the boats at
Thanks

The 19 can get really skinny too depending on whats been done to the boat, just keep in mind that weight added in the wrong places will make any boat draft more than it's potential.  But if all weight issues were equal, because of a slightly bigger footprint on the water the 19 will be about the same as the 17 and they usually have similar power on the back, can't speak for the 22 haven't been on one.
The 'advertised' hull draft of an early 70's Aquasport was 7 1/2" for the 17, and 8" for the 19 and 22.  But they never made a 19 flatback, that's a 222 model only.

My 19-6 can float in approx 9-10" of water with a full tank and 2 people on board.  I have a 90hp on the back.  Hope this helps
