I'm pretty sure my 230 with full fuel and 40gals of water plus all the camping supplies tips the scale at the max my Tundra can handle (6900 lbs). The Tundra handles it ok but you know the boat is back there (by the gas mileage too).

DAMN!!!
How did the boat run with your new throttle cable?
Quote from: "seabob4"How did the boat run with your new throttle cable?Well I hate to admit it but I never ran the boat with the new cable before the trip, just on the hose so once I got it in the water the rpms where way to low and it would stall going into and coming out of gear so I had to do some adjustments on the water but after that all was good.
I'd say a 225 will weigh in over 5400 lbs on the trailer fully loaded. I'm sure some 225 and 230 guys will chime in on weights and towing. I personally would like to have a tad more capacity than the load I'm towing.

I personally would like to have a tad more capacity than the load I'm towing. The dealer advised in an email: The trailer is manufactured by Sealion Trailers it is their model SE-23T-5400BB. It has a 5,400 lb carrying capacity and a gross weight (the amount you will be towing) of 6,550 lbs. Two torsion axles (better than leaf springs) and 4 wheel disc brakes. The type of braking system is hydraulic surge, this is typical on boat trailers. Horse and motor home trailers use electric brakes. It will come with a two year warranty. If I bought this boat, http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2001/Aq ... ted-States I'd have to buy a trailer and I don't understand the difference between a trailer having a $5400lb towing capacity and the gross weight being the weight you will be towing. With this information, would this be the right sized trailer to tow a 225 loaded with the motor, gas, water and gear?
