No all feels the same, nice and smooth, solid, no soft spots etc...

The more I think about it, I'm hoping the cause is due to the cap and deck being off.  Once those go in, it should tighten the hull back up.

Well if we had known that in the first place!!  Isn't the cockpit sole part of the liner?  "Cap" and "deck" are interchangable terms for the same thing.  In the business, we call a deck on a 3-piece boat a "doughnut deck", as it really is just a rectangular "ring" that finishes off the topsides.  2-piece boats, such as the newer Aquasports, the liner and deck are 1 part.

Regardless of 2 or 3 piece, without a deck/cap in place, the hullsides can be flexed very easily.  It's the shoebox joint of the hull-to-deck joint that really tightens the whole assembly up...

Now there's a fine waste of time!

LOL, well I figured you guys had seen my numerous updates to my build and had seen the current status.  Thanks for the help though.  Either way I still hope that is the fix.

I don't think anything was a waste of time fitz, I'm not a boat builder by trade.  This is my first rebuild and this is an issue that popped up, literally.  Thought this was the place to ask questions.  Don't get your panty's in a wad buddy.

No panty's wadded, maybe a slight wedgy though! I'll check when I get home! Anyway, it would be typical for the hull to bulge or distort with the cap off, particularly an older model AS that had gunnel flex anyway.

Actually CE, hadn't looked through your re-build, so I guess it's partially my fault...

Aquasports are not the only boat that has thinner than you may like hullsides.  Most hulls of most builders, you grab the hull flange and move it back and forth, it can deflect 2-3" in or out.  The toughest I've seen at the OEM level were Hydra-Sports Vector series, and it wasn't because of the Kevlar.  It was because of a heavy laminate schedule and the use of stiffeners.  Glass in a few short lengths of Prizma beam oriented vertically, and those hullsides will stiffen right up.  But laminates and stiffeners come with a penalty, weight and cost.

So, we rely on the shoebox joint to bring it all together.

Please show us some pics of the area of concern regardless.

One thing....in order to stiffen the two relatively thin pieces...and yes they are thin...you may consider adhesive between parts later in the build.

Yeah I had thought of that, thinking it would eliminate the rattling I noticed just tapping the hull side.  Anywhere its separated I'll probably throw some adhesive in there.
