Original stringer system or replace with glass over wood?

I am finally getting back to my 1972 19' 1" AS project and to the board.  I took a look back through the posts and am still up in the air as to replacing my stringers with ones that are glass over foam like original or glass over wood.  I think a couple of others were looking at this, what are your experiences?

The glass over wood would most likely be easier but I am not sure where to place them in relation to the chines.  If I go with the foam filled stringers I am planning on laying the stringer over a form and then glassing it into the boat followed by filling with foam.

Any ideas?

Were the original stringers cut out completely?

The two center ones have been cut out completely from about a foot under the casting deck to the transom.  The outer two (right against the  hull sides) are intact except for the back 3 feet where there was damage to one and the other appeared to never have been filled fully with foam.  I am going to rebuild the outer ones as they are, especially since I left a rim of the old floor and plan to build the new one on top of the rim.  I want to raise the floor slightly anyway.  Someone had actually cut about half the width of each center stringer away to fit in a tank and did not even bother to reglass the cut parts of the stringer!

I have to fix a crack along the chine under the stringer anwyay and want to do it from inside and out.  Then I plan to lay a 1 layer of glass across the whole inside hull bottom.

My plan right now is to form the center stringers out of the boat on a set of forms.  That way I can cut make them slightly tall and be able to cut/grind them down to fit the floor correctly and be the right height.  The stringers would then tie into the forward part that are still intact.  This would be harder if I only did a grid system since that would be 2 inches wide at most and the stringers are now about 6 inches wide at the top and 8 at the bottom.
