The best forum on the net? ...... YES!
« on: January 16, 2013, 06:47:39 PM »
So back before Thanksgiving my father in law gave me a set of Lee outriggers. They will soon be headed to Pensacola to get new wraps on the guides and recoated. The problem has been finding bases for them. No longer made. One day I had the idea to call seabob since he is around all these different boats all the time and see if he could locate any for me. He calls me back a few days later and tells me Jose Gaspar's 25 CCP he is rewiring had a set on the gunnels. Having read Mark's posts in the past (and knowing from that he really likes bottom fishing) I asked Bob if he could contact him and see if he could part with them. I have a couple of rodholders here that are unused and wanted to see if we could trade.
Today I got a call from Mark and he said not a problem and we could do the trade.
So yes this is the best damn site around!!!!
Ya gotta love the internet!!!!!!

Lewis, pulled them out today, all boxed up with my handy dandy pre-printed USPS priority shipping label on the box...they'll go out tomorrow, you should see them Saturday!

This is truly the best place to be!  And the reason is clear...all the members who make it that way.  The old timers, the new guys (who will eventually be old timers!), there just isn't a better place to relax, have a few, talk boats, see how we can help each other, get QUITE a few laughs...and nobody in anybody else's face.  Can't beat that with a stick!!

I agree.  I told Lewis today that I was just as excited about giving him the bases as he was getting them.  I bottom fish 99% of the time other than the occasional troll for kings.  I was happy to get him something he so badly needed and in turn, get me another set of rod holders (got some lazy fishing buddies and family on the boat sometimes).  This forum and SeaBob have given me so much insight and knowledge since I joined in '09 as a newb aquasport owner, I was glad to be able to make a tangible contribution to another member.

I cannot wait to get my 250 back.

Lewis's (formerly Mark's!) outrigger bases are on a USPS plane heading northward!

Mark, had a great conversation with Butch at Weeki Wachee Marine this morn, he knows quite a few people that I know.  I'm sure should he come along tomorrow to pick up your 250, we'll spend a good deal of time talking...but not on your dime!

Was able to tilt the motor all the way up by bypassing the trim/tilt solenoid, So I would imagine it will be getting a new one (down works fine).  Good thing is, the TNT motor sounds and works perfect.  Personnally, I don't think they are going to find much wrong with the motor, other than replacing a few items.  Butch is VERY familiar with the old Zuke 2-strokes, you're in good hands...
