170 finally went on maiden voyage

After 3 months, a new fuel tank, and a complete rebuild of the motor, and new bottom paint, my 170 finally hit the water . The ride was everything I thought it would be.  Seems to handle well and ride great :!:  I have not run it in a chop yet but I feel like it will ride alot better than the 1974 mckee craft tri hull that I sold and replaced it with the 170.

I have noticed on several threads about the self bailing problem with the scuppers.  I did install the ping pong ball scuppers from boaters world.  I had very little if any water coming in.  That was with the boat at idle with 2 adults standing back by the motor.  They seem to work alot better than the rubber flaps.  

In a week or so I will go ahead and post some pics and set up my photo gallery.

It's great to read about a job completed with expectations met!  That's solid encouragement for a number of us who are in the midst of working to get our projects out of the barn.

My completed work on my 170 doesn't even scratch the surface of your accomplishments or your projects, but is does feel good to do alot of work and get the end result that you are looking for.  It is great to have guys like you who offer so much knowledge to the forum.  Thanks again and I will post some pics soon.
