Back to the original question........(wow, anything can get de-railed-ha!)
Original Bounce Dryer sheets, stick some in every hatch, in the bilge, console, a bunch just laying in the boat, works way better than mothballs

Do you have any animals around the boat?  If not, I have found that the DCON bait trays work really well.  You can get them at Lowes.  Place a couple at the base of the boat.  They will eat these and head for water.  Just make sure that you don't have dogs or cats that can get to them.  I put them in my utility building out back and have not seen a mouse since.

If they are in the boat like it sounds like they are, put a couple of trays in there and that should take care of them

Pretty much what John says.  Had a couple rats sneaking around the porch, few days later, found them both dead, haven't seen any since...

We use the pellet packs around the marina, the rats like to live under the floats on the flotation. They are usually belly up in the creek a couple of days later.

We had a biggun hanging around the back yard eating bird food. I got out the Crosman and gave it the gun. Only thing was, turned out to be a baby rabbit. That sucked.

About a week later, the actual rat turned up in the yard upside down after eating the poison.

Get yourself a squirrel Scotty, that and the rabbit...Brunswick Stew!!

And, yes Rob, ANYTHING can get de-railed around here, especially if Scott or I get a hold of it...although Bruce had a hand in this one!

To expound upon Bob's dissertation....it just depends on one's thinking. Sorta like the old adage about the glass being half empty or half full.

What some may consider de-rail....others may uphold as slightly off-topic with added value.

In this instance the thread naturally morphed from mouse....to rat...to cooking a rat....to murdering a bunny rabbit....to procuring a squirrel.

All of this may be considered worthless drivel. Unless you are starving to death and need to prepare a rodent entree.

Anyway...getcha some DCON.

Right back on topic

And the Color Commentator just scored another post....Woo Hoo

the pellets are great,if the rat goes to the river for a drink, but if he crawls into the bilge for a drink and a nap,it's stink city for a long time,I use the dryer perfumed sheets also.
