Title: 2001 Yamaha 200 Parts?
Post by: mevince on September 07, 2012, 08:54:00 PM
Is there a connection on here for parts for these motors? Id like to do most of the work myself on whatever needs replaced from the corrosion. The rest will be done by a friend that is a mech at the boat shop down the road. I could also remove each part and clean and treat them. Is there any products that have been used by others on here for this type of thing? I live in upstate SC so saltwater problems are new to me as well as outbaords also.

Thanks for the link. I have also found out thru research that these are 1994s and not 2001s.

Was it the cowlings that gave it away?

No Capt, Im new to outboards so if its not square and boxie then it looks newer to me. He said they were 2001s and I took his word for it. I think he meant to say he bought them in 2001. Doesnt matter now, I was messing with them today to try to get them to turn over and they are locked down. Now I have to decide if I want to rebuild or replace the powerhead so I have a warranty or gamble and buy used. Either way I figure Im out $10k to repower. Any suggestions? Im coming off a house rebuild so Im on a toy budget for a while. Ill need the cheapest route.
