Recently rebuilt the carburetors on my 1998 Evinrude 115 SPL. Before I started I was looking for pics to give me an idea of what I was in for but couldn't find them easily online. Turned out to be pretty easy as everyone says but I took some pics anyway in case anyone else has the same motor and wants to see.

Looks good! Great job!

looks great! I've got a 175 with a 90 hp spl. I think its the same motor with bigger jets. When I rebuild mine I'll look up this post again.

And by the way..how does it run? Did you get a little more wot and better Idle?
-
Turned out not to be my problem at all - I had a couple bad spark plug wires that needed replacing that led to the loss of power symptoms I was experiencing
Was a useful exercise to rebuild the carbs anyway - I am glad I did it so I will not be afraid of doing it in the future.
Motor runs really great now, idles better than ever, runs great at WOT, and my fuel efficiency seems better - my guess is that it is mostly due to the wires though

Great job getting your hands dirty..! If you take your time and have the right instructions and tools you can learn to do anything.
I have a 1998 115 Special totally rebuilt powerhead with all electical components and wiring replaced. It will be on a 1976 170 that has been restored. I can't wait to get it finished and see how it runs.

actually if you notice, I wore gloves so I wouldn't get my hands dirty :)
I was trying to minimize my exposure to the carb cleaner...
