Title: 87 250 ccp rest/mod
Post by: Aquaholic12 on April 18, 2012, 05:14:48 PM
Here's my 87 250 ccp. I Am planning on making it into a nice usable mild offshore boat. It has twin 140 loopers on it and I guess pics will speak for themselves. This will be my build thread.
When I first got her after a few hours of cleaning and a few days later I took her out.

On the way home from the marina 2 of the supports on the trailer had failed and I had to rebuild the trailer. The cross supports had rusted through.

Off the trailer, it was only temporary so don't flame about the blocks.

Got her back on the trailer and decided to repower. There was nothing really wrong with the evinrudes, but wanted something newer, and in had this laying around. Just hung her on today

Now comes the rigging, a t-top, new leaning post and some more little and big things over the next few weeks.

Aqua,
Drop her in just for chits and giggles and see how she sits with the Vrod.  Kinda fun seeing an old classic with the new motor hanging off the back end... :salut:

Aqua, where do you plan to locate the PS pump?  Just leave it on the deck aft to get her up and running, or were you thinking console from the get go?  No, no, no on sticking it in the bilge, they don't like damp areas...and remember, drill some drain holes in the reservoir box...

I decided to just use the regular seastar helm instead of running the power steering. Needed the power steering for my other boat. It should be in the water at the end of this week, I had decided to re-wire the entire boat,

Long time no post.

Well, I had put her in the water with the single verado, she sat level. I decided I wanted to run twins again on this boat so I ended up installing the verado on my other boat and started doing the transom. Enclosed it and put a bracket on it. Bolted two longshaft evinrudes on it to check to see if it was high enough to run twin long shaft motors. Perfect. Now I am fairing and painting it and when done I will rig it with twin 200 verados. I'll keep posting pics as it goes on. Now I have time to get here done.
