Title: Battery size
Post by: J Mac on April 07, 2012, 03:36:56 PM: My battery was stolen from my 17.5 aquasport. I have a fishfinder and livewell. Do you think the battery below would be sufficient. The battery would need to be 11" by 7" to fit correctly. Batteries in acid group 27 and 31 are too big

Post by: Treefish on April 07, 2012, 11:21:31 PM: You'll be good with the 24. I've got a 24 in mine. I run a 1100gph livewell pump, a lowrance hds5, and a stereo with a 350 watt amp. I've been through an entire year fishing and into the second year and never had to charge my (walmart) battery. Fires right up.

Post by: Circle Hooked on April 07, 2012, 11:29:54 PM: I agree with the others, I have 2 24's on my boat and while camping out i run the fans, stereo, dvd you name it and always have enough left in that battery to start but like Bob said a spare is cheap insurance.

Post by: RickK on April 08, 2012, 07:25:31 AM: I've been having a rash of bad luck on my 24Ms from walmart - on the 3rd one in 2 years. I do leave it on a charger when I'm not using it though. I leave my 24Ms in the 230 on a charger also and am into the 3rd year on them.

Post by: GoneFission on April 08, 2012, 09:07:45 AM: I'm an AutoZone battery fan. They may all come from the same plant, but I've had better luck with the AutoZone batteries than those from Wal-Mart.

Post by: Circle Hooked on April 08, 2012, 09:06:43 PM: I always got between 2-3 years out of Walmart batteries however the one in my work trailer is going on 6 years old (it was originally in my boat for 2 years) prior and it still works fine, it never gets charged until it's real low.
