Title: GPS/fishfiinder opinions please

Debating on these 2 options... What do you guys think? Opinions on brands, options to look for/concider.

going on a 22-2, mostly fishing/cruising inshore around Tampa bay, occasionally off-shore in the gulf and keys. Would like a thru-hull transducer.

I've heard a lot about the new Gen2 Lowrance units, but havent heard that much about the Huminbird units, especially when used in saltwater environments.  my friend has one of the Huminbird 597ci HD DI and is pretty happy with it.

I personally would go with a Garmin over either of these options.  Can't beat how easy to use the Garmin's are.  The pricing on Garmin Units is better too.
