Some of the gauges in my 21.5 Explorer are either not working correctly or not working at all. How do I determine if the problem is the gauge or possibly something else?
For example - The gas gauge is not working at all. It used to work sporadically. How can I tel if it is the gauge itself ot the sensor in the gas tank?
Any help or advise is appreciated. Lou

The fuel gauge is easy to test. Take the sender wire off the sender at the fuel tank and ground it to the fuel tank. The gauge should peg full. If it does that means your sender is bad and the wiring and gauge is good. If the gauge does not deflect then the gauge or the wiring between the gauge is bad.

Thanks. I will try that.
