CJ,
You guys have DNR? FWC? CCA? Anything to sort of "deter" this type of behavior? Or are the netters their BILs?
No disrespect against those who commercial fish for a living, but there has to be some respect from both sides...

From what I have read, NC has some of the most lax netting laws in the country. Alabama was right there with them but AL at least tightened up on them and will never issue a new netters license. After they die off, netters are done here.

Sounds like I would have anchored just a little too close to this guys net, then on the anchor retrieve if the hook happened to snag his net and I didn't realize it until I was few hundred yards away I would have made a sincere apology

Could we read that "might have"?

so glad we banned netters in Florida.I remember hanging posters encouraging people to vote for the net ban.In the Indian river it has made a huge difference in the fishery here.Power to the people! :thumright:

I can't find it now but a couple of years ago there was a video on youtube that showed NC netters using a pickup to haul out their nets on the beach. Must have been a thousand bull reds in the net.
