What is the sound-proofing material you used.  Have you run the boat yet to see how much sound reduction there is?

i used the westmarine brand it 1" 54"x36", I ran the engine at the house on a garden hose and its way quite at idle. It didnt have any soundproffing to begin with, but I'm very pleased with the outcome...

My previous boat was a 72 stamas with an 88 225 johnson, what a racket that made even at idle...

its nice to have a quite boat.

Jim thanks for the Aquasport CD you sent ! some very cool pictures.

How is the insulation attached?  Is it glued in place?

it came with a peel and stick back, and its very strong, plus it also came with hangers, washers and nails for the top of the box....

Looks good.  Should keep the box surface cooler also.

Wow I looked at your album what a great ride. How does it run? Is that a 302 ford in it? I have a 73 19-6 and I know what you mean about the outboard being noisey. Gotta love the straight inboard. :D

thanks...

yeap ford 302 1989 era with a (mild cam, so ive been told by previous owner.)

it runs great, planes instanly with 5 guys or with 1, no difference. speed is 25-27mph cruise and 35 mph top end gps with 5 guys. Theres nothing on the boat that requires me to take it somewhere to fix, I've also done everything myself.

That kind of performance is the gift of pure inboard.
