Title: Houston area aluminum fabricator found!
Post by: Spectre5922 on August 25, 2011, 09:56:28 AM
Hey guys,

In the search for a tank or fabricator, I found a source in the Houston area.  I talked to him for almost an hour yesterday.  He has YEARS of experience and has a shop in Pasadena.  He is also a machinist, and you know how anal they are about tolerances and perfection.  We discussed what I was looking for and he gave me a great price.  I can't buy a poly tank or custom fabbed aluminum tank anywhere else for anywhere near what he quoted me.  He also does custom leaning posts, t-tops, rocket launchers and just about anything else that you would want for your boat that requires welding.  I will be taking him my old tank (for dimensions and fitting locations) either this weekend or next week.  He is going to be building me a new tank out of 5051 with the same dimensions as the original one with 2 baffles and a sender (no more direct-read gauges) for a fantastic price.  I will post a review with pics as soon as I get the tank back.  Here is his information:

You are well on your way now.  I'd inquire about have a WEMA fuel sender installed.  :thumleft:

He is a stand up guy that stands behind his work (even if he is a little slow).  I will use him again. I just have to realize that Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are boat tanks!  lol
