Anyone have an idea who made this wheel? I picked it up at a garage sale along with some other items. The Stainless part measures 13" across, and across the wood handles measures 22".
Here's what else I picked up at the sale...
Seastar cylinder HC5345. New in box,
Orange waterproof box like they sell at walmart,
a whistle for my boat,
and this wheel...
for a total of $120.
I feel that I made out like a bandit.

I just sold that cylinder tonight for $375. I'm gonna donate my $255 profit to the oil companies.

I don't believe he had any clue. I offered him $100...he asked me what one should cost...I told him I'd never purchased just the cyl, but I' had purchased the entire system before so I wan't exactly sure...we settled at 120.
How here's something that was interesting to me....The guy I sold the cyl to had the baystar system on his triton bass boat with a merc 200 on the back. He said he'd never had any problems up to that point.
Also, he told me that he was going to use the baystar helm with the Seastar cyl. Any insight on this??? I thought there was a pressure output difference between the two helms. I'll have to do some reading.

The REAL difference between the Baystar cylinder and the Seastar cylinder is not the HP (despite what Teleflex says), bu the weight of the engines. 150s (Baystar's max rating) are the smaller V6s (or in the case of Yam, I4s), whereas the 200s and up are the bigger blocks, hence the increase in weight.
At PL, we used the same helm pump with both Baystar and Seastar...

Right on, thanks for the info.

Not sure what Teleflex says what system will work on a Merc 150 but my mechanic told me my Merc 200 actually weighs less than a 150 HP. I'd love to Convert my boat over to Hydraulic steering and the price of the Baystar system looks tempting but the 150HP limit sucks. The Seastar is just a tad out of my budget right now.
