Title: Today Show feature, "Chat Room Addiction"
Post by: gran398 on February 24, 2011, 11:27:58 AM
Thanks Matt Lauer, my wife saw this segment and went off like Saturn V. I am now officially a "Chat Room Addict." I have all the tell-tale signs. Distant, non-communicative, and lacking intimacy.

They recommended to establish "Device Free Zones" in your household. And to limit internet involvement to 3 minutes every two hours.

In the meantime, spend quality time with your spouse: Watch re-runs of Dr. Phil, Oprah, or for live entertainment, Housewives of Orange County/Miami/Atlanta/New Jersey/New York, etc.

Thanks Matt

What did they blame for those same symptoms 20 years ago....

Dont forget Scrabble on their I Phones with mother and friends! Last month something like 135,000 bytes or texts or whatever you gobble up playing scrabble!

At least I don't have to worry about that.  Mine hates cell phones.  She has one supposedly for emergency but most of the time it's on the end table or has a dead battery.

Oh No JJ, we cannot let our wives get together, mine is completely into those two shows, and I can't stand either one, well, Idol I watch for the first few shows as all the complete morons who have been lied to their entire life about their "talent" get shot down in flames and they go spastic.. that's kind of funny, after that.. forget it.

The first shows of Idol are the ones I hate.  I don't mind watching so much when they get down to six or so.  At least they can sing and now and then they will have a couple of hottie finalists.  ;)

Hey while nobody's lookin' sneakin' in between my allowed 3 minutes every two hours. Its tough bein' an attic.

She has Am Idol on. Believe it or not, would have to say they have more talent this year than in all the years past put together.

Lotta hotties too. Guess if u gots to go to jail...

Mine is busy with homework but it's taping...
She keeps the damn DVR so full of idol, survivor, Okra, and Dr. Phil there is never any room left for fishing shows.   :x

(She has not yet figured out that I have her shows set for "delete when space is needed" and my shows set for "save until I delete".  ;) )

JJ, good deal, glad you saved the extra space.

That Okra could be the downfall of the red-blooded American male.

Let's offer another option..."Larry the Cable Guy, Only in America."

He loves America. He's genuine.

(He is the first to admit he has a fake accent...but pulls in 18 million a year)...

Chit, he qualifies for a Senate seat. But Only in America.

A vote for Larry is a vote for the American Way.

Oops...the timer just rang.

I didn't mean to slam the lid on this thread - hell I fit most of the symptoms.
Couldn't resist the poke there Scott

Naw brother...you didn't slam the lid. Was LMAO!

We're still up and running :thumleft:

You know guys, I've caught some grief from my new bride ever since became an Aquasport attic. I can understand where she's coming from. But like we were all saying, jeez, you can only take so much of Housewives/Phil/Okra etc.

This frat house of ours is a welcome break from job pressures/problems, the daily grind, and monotony.

Got tuned pretty good down in Marco. Never really been hosed like that, and it hurt. Put that behind, and went forward. NO regrets at all. Its only money, and to the younger guys here...sooner or later, somebody's gonna try and hook you.

Here's the plus side, the value received.

Have a bunch of great friends. Can call many of the members anytime about anything, and vice-versa. We had one terrific time at the reunion, and will only get better.

The old adage rings true: Money can't buy happiness.

Oops...timer just rang!

PS CB....you're post just appeared, "May wish to review this post.......".... :thumleft:
