JJ,
As we speak, or type, just went through it...winds, tops, 20MPH. Minor hail, pea sized at best...
All is well!! :salut: And thanks for the concern!

Great.
It's my turn now. I'm right under the little black cross.

Buenos Suerte, seems to get worse as you go south, although CR and Homosassa got hit pretty good...we caught a "skinny" spot in the line, we'll take it!

Were on the other end of this line up in Flagler county... So far so good; more to come in the next couple of hours. I went out and told the 22-2 that everything will be OK. She is safe and sound under her cover. She gets nervous when the 60 ft pine trees next to her start swaying at 45 degrees! Is this a good time to talk about the insurance I dont have on her yet? Yikes!

Either that, or move her! Unless the system builds steam as it moves over the state, you'll be alright...which I doubt it will...

we got some 65+ mph winds about 20-25 mins ago, right when they said tornado warning for our neighborhood. shook the whole house, watched rain come in from the west, switch hard from the east then switch rapidly to the west... was waiting for my truck to blow off the jack stands...
pretty epic :drunken:
oh and it knocked the power out for 5 minutes
-
AAron,
Like I said, was looking at the radar on baynews9, we caught a skinny spot in the line...almost anti-climactic, considering what the wife was WATCHING on FOX 13 at the same time...doom and gloom!
-
Mostly past me now but we got hammered for a while. More tornado warnings popped up east of me in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
-
Look out Pete its coming your way now!!!!! Looks like you have 15 minutes!

Lewis,
Still raining pretty "stiff" here right now...not torrential, by any means, but good and hard...and it looks like that 'til about 2-4 in the morn...
I've lived in FL for what will be 30 years in May, never seen hail in the winter...
-
ITS ON ME NOW really coming down good!rain is just rollin off the new cover,I love it! :salut:
-
We still have rain and lightning but the wind and torrents have moved on.
-
Been watching out for all of you guys on the Weather Channel tonight...heavy stuff.
Glad everyone's OK.
Seems like unusual weather for ya'll this time of the year.

Scott,
It most definitely is! Like I said, 30 years, and never seen hail in the winter...except for the no-name storm, around '90...
-
When I let the dog out back this afternoon and it was 80 in the shade I figured there would be some hellzapoppin this evening.
-
Glad you guys are all good :thumright:
Been holding at 42 here all day, windy, and a steady nasty rain.
And my brother leaves ILM for St. Martin VI tomorrow morning....
Dammit...

Yeah it got pretty funky outside around 5:30-6:00 last night. Glad I made it home to let the dogs out first! We were watching it unfold on the news when they said there was a indication of a tornado right near us... UH OH! We were getting ready to head for the bathtub in the middle bathroom that is in the center of the house... Ended up just being a bunch of HEAVY rain and lightening.
-
Saw a "skinny" spot in the squall line...went right over us. A bit of heavy rain, some minor pea-sized hail, 15-20 knot winds at the most. Yet just watched the 5 o'clock FOX 13 news, 5 miles from us in Spring Hill and you'd have thought a tornado (maybe one did!) went through some sections! 28th st N, 30 th st N, St. Pete, 90 MPH winds! Pretty wild for January!
-
like i said, right when they(bay news 9) said radar indicating a tornado over NE st. pete, about a minute later it got crazy as hell, wind/rain came in 3 directions, blew our front door open and blew the attic door open....
-
Looks like Groveland took the worst hit based on news reports up here. The good thing is we've had 2 3/4" of rain here in the last week due to two storm systems per my rain gage. The long range models are showing a persistant southern jet stream parked over us out into April with the low pressure systems traversing across the gulf and migrating through the big bend which should give us the rain we need badly here in NE florida. I`ll take the thunderstorms and tornado potential over drought and fires anyday. I've been through the 85` and 98` firestorms here and it was bad; keeps the pyrofreaks at bay as long as it`s wet.

Fitz,
Agree with you there. Came up from 60 (Vero) to Palm Bay once back in the 90s, up 95 right after a fire...that sucked!!!
-
Well that was a disappointment! I watched the weather channel and you would have thought the south was gonna drown. I didnt even lose my Directv signal last night. The temp drop was very welcome

I got to put the weather station my wife got me for Christmas to good use last night,i got 1.94" of rain, but the funny part was the wind never got over 20 and the barometer was actually rising during the storm, but 5 miles up the road,Clark rd and 75 they had a confirmed tornado.

There were a lot of dynamics going on in that squall line, things I nave never seen in 30 years here in FL...today, although crystal clear and cool, was far windier than what we saw yesterday evening...

Not here. The wind was probably close to tropical storm force here just before dark yesterday. I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow. A really tall palm on one side of my yard had tons of dead fronds hanging that I did not want to pay someone with a bucket truck to cut off. Now they are all in the yard of the abandoned house next door. Not only do I now not have to pay but they are in a yard that the bank will not even pay to mow unless we call code enforcement.
