Title: Is Reggie home?
Post by: GoneFission on December 17, 2010, 12:34:59 PM
OK, it's not an Aquasport, and it's not a fishboat.  But if you want to go fast,   make lots of noise,  :shaking: and/or do some inshore/offshore drilling,    this might be your boat.  Starting price is only $1000, and check out that instrument panel!

Sorry to say, CJ, but at 40', with twin 7.4s, she's gonna be a dog.  Even if they are bored and stroked to bring them up to, say, 540 CI, the max horse they are probably putting out (fresh) would be around 1100 for the both.  40 and ups like to see around 2400 HP to get in the mid-70s...and in that world, that's not fast...

Gotcha SB.

But its a Fountain, and girls LOVE Fountains.

As GF says, perfect for inshore/offshore drilling.

Just look at that cabin with the stimulated mohair ceiling...thats a mood-enhancer right there.

OK, SB, it won't be that fast with just a couple big-blocks, unless you put blowers on them   or just change them out for a pair of 1000HP V-12 Lamborghinis.  Of course the Lambos will set your bank account back a bit, but just consider the hull a freebie compared to the motors.

And as Scott said, de ladies like de Fountain.  So you will probably be spending most of the time tied up or anchored anyway.  And stock big-blocks sound like a zillion HP if you run straight pipes, so I'm sure Miss Crab Claw 2008 really will not know the difference when she has had a few apple-tinis.

Now where's my Speedo?

I guess if I was young and single...

Twin 454s with a 200 gallon tank, yeah, that's just enough gas to get from the marina to the sandbar and back.

...and when that 38 Scarab with triple 800SCs passes that Fountain like it's standing still?  Well, there go the chicks...

The cost of entry into this little genre of boating is VERY steep...

Naw, he's too short.

Its OK.... Reggie doesn't discriminate due to age. (Or race, nationality, religion, political beliefs, business models, etc.)

I'm not quite that Victorian yet, but I do like to dabble in satire even if I often fall short. 8)
