Title: Would it be crazy to...
Post by: funsuncpl on September 28, 2010, 03:46:59 PM
Install snap in carpeting on the deck?  There are going to be several times the poles stay home and we're just cruising around, thoughts?  Anyone else do this?

Seriously, IMO too hard to clean up after fishing.  No way to get the sand out either.

Haha that's funny.. they'd never be in for fishing or anything, just cruising around, family and friends type stuff

Their where a few bass boats that had edge bound carpet that snapped in. It never caught on and they had problems with the carpet starching and shrinking with temp and sun. Also in brackish water the snaps would crude and fall apart. So you can guess what saltwater would do.

Using quality SS snaps and buttons and sealed well through the deck, I don't see why it wouldn't work possibly do some good research on what type of carpeting/fiber is out there that would resist shrinkage and stretching as mentioned above??
