I'm on the the lookout for a used trailer in my area for my 200ccp. Is there anything specific I should be looking for or would any 20ft trailer fit my boat?
-
dual axel, aluminum, disc brakes, also I would price out a new trailer just to get a baseline,if the diff isn't that big,buy new,on a used trailer consider the cost for,new bearings and hubs, new tires[over 4 years old they're dry rotted, look for any hairline cracks]and the springs will probobly need to be replaced also.good luck :salut:

X2 except for the brakes. Brakes on a 20 footer are more hassle then they are worth unless your tow vehicle is small. I tow the same boat with an F150 and brakes on the trailer are not needed at all. just my .02

Welcome Rich! Brakes may not be just an option - they may be required by law. For example, Florida requires brakes on any trailer with a GVW of 3000 lbs. or more. I think a loaded 200CCP could easily go over 3000 lbs gross.
Here's a breakdown of what's required:

You don't want to give Po-Po an easy hit...

Monroe County boys are well aware of brake and tie-down requirements.

NY is a1000 pounds so brakes are a must. I'm actually looking foward to getting her home so I can go through it.

Rich,
Get a bunk trailer, not a roller. Rollers can deform a hull...
And make sure the bunks are centered under the stringers...
-
Rich - get her cleaned up and on a nice trailer and then head down to the Carolinas for the mid-Atlantic Aquasport gathering in October! :thumleft:
