Been working on the re-rigging of Alex Buck's 19?? 19-6/200, kinda fun to start from scratch, but a lot of issues that were not known to me when I took the job. That being said, here's a few pics. Engine is rigged, back end is done, console should be done tomorrow. Moving the batts and switch to the console, as well as moved the stereo to the console, which left him some big old holes forward...

Here's a link to the whole thing...Alex Buck's 19-6/200 (http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh301/seabob4/Proline%20website%20pics/AlexBuck200/).

I love the pic in the link that shows a regular old butt connector. Wouldnt be so bad if the person who originally did that had used some liquid tape and shrink tubing
-
Rob,
Lot's of "suspect" chit on this boat...but it will be all squared away...
-
Whats up with the Talon? Did you ever find that article I told you about? The Talon with all the electronics that could drive itself
-
My Doctor buddy is a little slow, him and the missus in Marco this weekend. Should be dropping the boat off Tuesday...
I want to re-rig his AS too if he goes for it. And then he's got the 257 Mako that needs an entire rigging done...
-
Did you find that article I told you about Bob?

Rob, looked, couldn't find. Did a number of cross searches, no luck...
So, will all this fit and let me get the rigging trough cover installed?
Guess so...
But no one will ever pull anything through that trough if I don't cut the cover into 3 sections and screw them down individually...Guess I have to do it...

Marco?
Be careful....something in the water there.
SB....glad biz is picking up.
Keep it up....you've always shown quality work.
-
Scott,
Doing my best! Having some fun! I don't like how the people who did Alex's sole did their work, pretty shoddy, and he knows it, but his rigging will be top notch. Want to get the console installed tomorrow and wired...that's my fun!
-
Hey Seabob, I sold a 19'6 to Alex should be a 1974. It had a factory installed splash well only one i have seen with one, but i like a full transom. you Got it looking good.
-
Bob,
That looks awesome. Thank you for all your hard work! I can't wait to pick it up and take her for a spin. Since you got it looking so good, I think I am going to re-paint the entire inside now. Thanks again for everything and to all others wondering if Bob should do your work, well I think the pictures speak for themselves.
-
Alex,
Just plugging along. Made a "management decision" on the trough cover...
Cut 5/8" off the forward end, the bead of caulk around the console flange will hide the seam and keep water out. So the cover is still one piece AND removable...
-
That looks great. I really appreciate all the hard work and I can't put into words how happy I am!
-
Made a little progress today. Alex could only get terminal strips, but our little "jumper" friends turn them into bus bars. Yes, I know you can get the little metal jumpers, but I didn't feel like driving down to Worst, and paying their prices...
I like to separate the engine harness from the house stuff...
Need a #24 hose clamp, but the livewell drain came out well...
Wanted to do more, but this is what I'm looking at...
And it just arrived...
-
So now we are making REAL progress...
The helm is wired...
Batts are installed...with 6" of 2GA to spare...
The motor turns over like a top with that group 24. Don't worry, the inline fuse holders will be labled...Helm Power, float switch, jack plate, and stereo memory...
-
:thumright:
Nice clean job Bob.
-
Very nice work Bob. I can't thank you enough. Just let me know when to come out so we can start her up together for the first time and bring her home. I am actually gonna be out near 54 on Thursday and would love to do it then if possible. If not, no big deal. Don't want to rush you. Have a wonderful night.
-
WOW  Excellent Work. :salut: Next time I'm near your neck of the woods, I might have to work something out with you.
-
CLEAN job Bob!

Now that Alex's boat is done, on to the next project...

Neat boat. Can tell you guys are serious from the start.
Looks likes a re-vamped console going in.
Same clean job. Good work.
-
I thought this was about Fabucks rigging
-
Rick,
You really don't expect a guy who admins his own site to start a new thread do ya?
-
Nice boat!!! Thats gonna be a real beauty re-rigged and cleaned...caught this thread at the right time....haaa
-
Rick,
Didn't mean to step on any toes here. Obviously the Talon is not an AS, but she share's a Sarasota heritage with the later model Aquasports, as well as just being a pretty cool boat. If you want, I'll start another thread, or even post on another forum, it's up to you. I talked to the owner this evening, he told me he will never get rid of her, so she is going to be done right. But it's your decision, and I support it 100%...
-
I ran a Talon F22 of similar vintage with a 250 Merc. You can get that boat into the mid/upper 70`s with some clever rigging and propeller set up. Not worth a hoot to pole however. Like trying to turn a train stuck on the tracks with those two sponsons in the water but a blast to drive at high speed; tunnel boat rule #1, stay off the "up" trim botton unless you like to change your shorts often!

The owner says he's never going to sell the boat, he loves it that much. In the process of ordering all new Gaffrig Gauges, bezels, and binnacle right now...white face, blue bezels and shifter, throttle lever to have 2 switches in the knob, TNT and Jack plate...

I don't think there is a problem with what you're re-rigging (had the brother of the guy that created the first Talon in one of my classes at the local VoTech) - maybe rename the thread to something more generic - like Bob's re-rigging?

Stumpjumper, this one isn't yours but is very similar. Yours was sold to my friend who had it redone just like this. All composite. 150 yammy 4 stroke and atlas jack also. It's pretty darn cool!
