Who says there are no stupid questions?
I've had a 1996 AS 175 with a 90 Evinrude foer about 4 years now. Bulletproof! Just got back from 3 weeks in Naples, and it was starting to run a little rough and not idling well. From previous experience, me thinks "time to dump the water out of the fuel filter!"
Where the hell is it?
Looked everywhere I've ever seen one on my previous boats (a number I'm ashamed to admit, and pisses off my wife almost daily). Did they ship these things without fuel filters? I'm pretty sure the motor is original equipment.
Oh, by the way, anyone interested in a 14' Mckee, a 17' AS, or a 22-2? Not selling a.ll of them....just running out of room.

No guarantee there was ever one installed.

BP,
You should have a hatch in the splashwell, look on the starboard stringer through that hatch...

On my 1995 175 the fuel filter/water seperator is mounted to the inside of the transome on the port side. Access is through the port/aft compartment. That compartment on my boat has a removable tray. With the tray removed the filter is easily accessible. I'm not sure if this filter is from the factory or was added by a previous owner though.

Nope! No fuel filter under either tray. Guess I have another project!
