took the boat out today, found out why it was overheating, t-stats  sitting at the dock the motor reached over 180 degrees at idle in less than 2 minutes with plenty of waster pressure... took the t-stats out, runs great!

burned less than 1/4 tank, went from my work (harborage marina downtown st. pete), to gandy bridge, south to the skyway, and back to the marina in 3 hours 50/50 cruising 3500rpm and trolling 1200rpm

Do you plan to replace the stats with working ones?
The reason I asked is because "loopers" run the best when they operate at designed temps. about 150-160 degrees, both banks.
2 cycles like to be warm, not hot or cold.
Just saying.

Nice! :D

i ran today w/o t-stats... ran great, i called the guy i bought the motor from, he said he has a hand full of t-stats in his shop he'll bring me on Saturday when he drops by the marina to work on his boat...

Aswaff,
Didn't know you worked at The Harborage. We used to have our dealer meeting at The Vinoy, then when we would get kicked out mid-week because Cruisers Yacht was coming in, we relocated and used your transient slips...
Is that bigass Sportfish out towards the breakwater still there? Heard the guy was trying to sell it...
BTW, the harbor master was a cool dude, we always were treated well there... :thumleft:

ahh i started there Jan '07, mike dudzik or mike hadra was the dockmaster at the time. i dont remember a sportfish but we had a 152 ft m/y "Sorcha" been there for about 2 years, they left a few months ago, its now in ft. lauderdale till its sold... i was mainly at the high and dry so i dont really remember boats in the wetslips...
