Getting sweeter by the minute....Love the big covering board on the transom, with integrated livewell. Has that Palm Beach look.
The knee job is strong too. You've got a battleship there...keep the pics coming!
-
Ive broken 2 transoms I didnt want this one to move!
-
She sure as heck ain't gonna move.....sweet :thumright:
-
Yes, you have been busy!
Are the stringers the michigan and the sole the coosa?
Also, do you have any pics of the rigging tube layout before decking went in?
I think the grandkids will be enjoying your work! :thumleft:
-
You guys are doing an excellent job! Interesting to see how she'll look with the deck back on her.
You guys ever spend sometime at Wellcraft or Donzi...or Chris?
-
the stringers are made of 10lbs michigan board and the deck is made out of #12 coosa board.

Rick,
This is the stuff, you can get it through Composites One...
-
michigan board and coosa is the best stuff to work with and its tuff as can be, I used plasticore as stringers one time its a poor exuse for a coring material. But anyways here are some outside pics........

Splash rails :thumright:
Are they an aftermarket product or hand made?
-
I ordered them from barbour plastics, they are the same ones that lilrichard used.
-
busch lights the best.. what are you doing for a cap?
-
I only drink the best! I took the top cap and fliped it over and glassed a bunch of 3/4 pvc for rope lighting and reinforced the structure w/ 1808 and tuff stuff (michigan board), I wanted to flaten the top side of the cap but I dont stand on it so it still looks somewhat original.
-
where did you get the livewell and console from?
-
a guy in bradenton built both of them
-
looks excellent, feel free to post more pictures of the console/livewell as well as his contact information  good stuff

Rick,

I was told from my supplier in sarasota that the michigan composites plant set fire and they do not plan on opening up another one at this time. That is what I was told???
-
yup it burned down on 4th of july weekend, Im sure you talked to ryan at fiberglass services. I ended up buying almost there entire suply of michigan board and coosa they had in the rafters. It got realy expensive then!!!!
-
i dug some more pics up from when I flipped it over.

I reglassed the keel with 2 layers of 12" 1808 tape before i painted the botom.
there are still alot of dips in the bottom but this boat lived its life in the water and I dont think the fish care much.

This is going to be one hell of a boat when she's done. :thumright:
-
the boat is actually done, I just got 20 hours on the motor. Im just starting to get the pictures organized so I can start showing it off.
-
I'm doing a 67 and really like the way you did yours what mat did you use for the extra layering in the hull. Is the michigan board a wood product or foam? Did this hull have wood stringers? The boat looks great. What power did you use, does the deck sit level and self bail with your setup?
-
the old stringers that were original were the foam box stringers, about five years ago i put nidacore stringers in it and they didnt hold up very well, this time i stripped the hull and laid 3 layers of 1808 biaxle before i put the michigan board stringers in. I made 2 19 foot (2 3/4" laminated michigan board pices together w/ 1808 between) those were the two main stringers. And michigan board is a foam composite very strong and great to work with, but you will need to find another manufacturer, michigan composites burned to the ground new years eve. Also I raised the floor ~3-4 inches from stock, I used sink drains in the middle of the deck and I can fill both livewells and have 4-5 people on the boat and it will still drain.
-
Wow two fires on two holidays lol j/k
-
oops I didnt mean to put the 4th of july befor it was new years......
-
Just giving you a hard time go thing you got your supply when you did huh? Looking forward to seeing the pics of her all done.
-
When you flipped her over how much did the sides flex? And what did you use to hold the 2x4's in place? Looks really nice so far looking forward to the finished pics.
