Title: choosing a core material for a 170 rebuild.
Post by: bluemud on March 09, 2010, 01:58:46 PM
I have read many of the threads and looked over the options. Does anyone know if the Coosa Bluewater 20  1/2 inch will be stiff enough for deck replacement?  I was planning on one layer of 1708 ontop of that.

had to edit my response, after looking at the bluewater specs it looks like pretty tough stuff, not the typical foam based core-  per their site

high density, polyurethane foam reinforced with layers of woven roving and continuous strand fiberglass.
27 lbs per cf for the 1/2" stuff (4' x 8' sheet)

might be worth it to send them an email with your question.
