Title: Adding to my electric power project started
Post by: Double Trouble on February 21, 2010, 10:37:23 AM
I started this thread over in Discussions to get some help on how to proceed thanks to SeaBob I have started. I have ordered all the wiring and supplies from GenuineDealz they have great prices and free shipping. I am adding a group 27 deep cycle battery with a seperate charger and a BEP switch with an isolator nice compact setup. Went down to the boat yesterday for a couple of hours. So far I installed the charger the switch and a new rigging tube  . Here are some pictures I hope.
This is what I started wit

Going back tomorrow to pull some wires.I am thinking of using 2 group 24 deepcycle batteries in parallel instead of 1 group 27 that will give me more reserve amp hours. To do this I think I will have to get a bigger charger oh well I could put the one I just bought on EBAY I guess.

DT,
Believe it or not, that little Guest will charge a couple of Group 27s wired in parallell, but it will take a looonnnggg time...

You can always buy a second single bank and wire the A/C side into the same breaker as the first, so that when you turn on the "Batt Chgr" breaker on your panel, they both come on.  Or you could go with the real deal...

and sell Lewis your Guest!

BTW, you would just need the ProSport 20, not the 20+.

mid compartment that will hold the new battery bank.
