Title: LED lights and what not
Post by: Aswaff400 on February 15, 2010, 07:19:35 PM
i was off today and felt like doing some work to the boat. (sorry for the crappy cell phone pics)

1. changed the old bow and stern light to LED lights

2. replaced the incandescent courtesy lights with blue LED's

i also removed my single battery switch in favor of a dual battery setup and hooked my single bank charger up to the switch so i can choose which battery i want to charge...

Nice job
Looks great   :thumleft:

On my 98 175 osprey
I used led replacement bulbs for the stock
curtsey lights.  It turned out great no regrets,
well other than selling that great boat.

Anyway on to my new project 89 222.  :pirat:

Anyway great post
Keep on, keeping on.

Of course you can hang with us - but believe me when I say it's hard enough just to get locals out for a 5 hour gig, let alone anyone from "away" (Maine term).
We did see a few members from a few hour tow away at one of the gigs - BroadBill from across the state     Beautiful rebuild  :salut:   We'll be there someday too.

I'm interested in changing the bulbs in my courtesy lights to blue leds.  Does anyone know what size bulbs I should be looking for?

You probably will need a bayonet base or the double-end style...but in the meantime here is a start:

Thanks Gran, I actually just posted in another thread about leds.  My current bulbs are 906's, so now I just need to find an led direct replacement in blue.

Pete,

Did your boats lights have the 906 bulbs in them originally?  I don't see the 906 listed as a compatible bulb with the ebay replacements you posted.

those leds fit in the same socket as those "906" bulbs.I don't know why they are not listed, but they fit. :salut:
