I'm having a discussion with a friend of mine over which boat is better my AS 230 TM with rude 150's or his 261B w/200 yammi's. Help me out guys! I love my 230 and I think mako is over rated.
what do you think?

I couldn't even what kind of opinions you would get from this Forum but....
For my money you can't beat a 222 CCP
Seriously though a 1993 230 is a hell of a boat. :thumright: but...
The extra 3 feet of Mako has got to help the ride but hurt the mileage.
I would like one of his motors for my WAC.

What is a 261B? Cuddy?

The 261B is a 26' center console with a full transom and bracket.

I don't know that much about 1992 yamaha 2 strokes but I have had good luck with my 150 evinrudes, need to keep them tuned and the carbs clean and they run great.

Mako is a nice boat. They were nicer in my opinion when the were made in Miami before Mako went public and way before they were bought by BPS.Only thing I dont like about them is that they are a HEAVY boat

I would say the only difference, not knowing the hull bottom config of this model, is the length difference (as Bob said). If I remember right Makos are just as wet as the Aquasports so that is no difference.

i had the chance to buy a previous customer of mine's mako. it was a '86 or 87 24ft with twin brand new 150 merc efi's only 5 hrs on motors all new rigging for $4,500. right after he finished restoring the boat he was diagnosed with cancer and was unable to use the boat any more. sold it for what he owed on marina rent. i wish i had jumped on that deal
