Anybody have a rough idea what a new canvas enclosure would cost on a 275 explorer hard top in New York. Any recommended shops that serve the Brooklyn area.
-
No clue, I priced out an aft cover to go from the back of my hardtop to the transom, along with a reapir fo 2 zippers for the back enclosure. He gave me a price of $500 for the cover and $9 a foot for the zipper repair and also, he will fix all snaps. Found him on Craigs list. I did not use him but will in the spring. I purchased a winter cover on ebay for now that will do the job I need for the winter. His name is Ricardo. phone is 631-495-2720. I would not be surprised if it cost you around $1000. sick isn't it.
My name is Steve and I live in Smithtown.
hope that this helps.

I was quoted $1000.00 just for my windshield panel with strataglas and center panel that opens. There is a place in Lindenhurst called True Blue canvas I am going to try.
-
Just remember to negotiate a better price, there must be a huge markup. My first quote was for $700.

I had a complete bimini top with 3 bows, stainless steel, front glass portion and drop down curtains done for 2100.00 in central nj. that was 3-4 years ago. for a little more you could get a hard top done, just shop around. good luck.

Hey Guys, I just went down to Amity Harbor Marine, they had a craigs list post for some Aquasport stuff that they were looking to move. I got an unbelievable price for the eisenglass canvas enclosure for my hardtop, so I bought it along with the jump seats as well. maybe there might be somthing there that may interest you.

DT,
That is a nice enclosure! That guy does good work! Sometimes the drop curtains can be difficult for some canvas guys, but this guy knows what he's doing.
Excellent bud, a 12V heater plugged into the 12V outlet at the helm, and your out there on 30 degree days (you, not me)! :thumleft:

Looks good :salut: Should be snug as a bug.... :D
So the sides unzip in a "U" and you can roll them up - how does the front work? Zip down or up - meaning does the center section lay down or do you have to roll it up? That was wise to have that put in - if the weather is the least bit snotty I put my helm enclosure up and unzip the center - the helm gets pretty stuffy without that open, if you don't need it closed.
I notice that you have the helm seats facing aft in the pics (correct?) - how does the rear panels fit with the seats sideways or facing forward? The seats look like they are going to be wear points on the curtains and if you leave the curtains up all the time will show the first wear.
-
Thanks Bob and Rick. Rick my helm seats are facing forward what you see are the grab rails Aquasport installed around the live well and sink. My canvas guy doubled the areas@allthe stress points including where all the snaps and zippers are with some black reinforcing vinyl, he also used gaskit tubing where the canvas snaps around the windshield to stop water intrusion. This guy is one of the best I have seen. He already picked up three more jobs at my marina.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot that the 275 has those aft of the seats. Sounds like he did a proper job (nice to find someone like that). Now, about the center panel up front?
-
Oh ya sorry Rick the front are made of strataglass so you dont want to roll that stuff, what we did was put a snap on each of the electronics boxes to open I run the zippers up and snap the window to the boxes pretty simple and works well.I will get a picture next time I am at the boat and post. :salut:
-
Here is the picture of the center window snapped up in the open position.

Sorry about that!

What happened? Moved the pic again eh?
-
I forgot you cant do that.
