I just got a smoking deal on a used 2007 Suzuki DF 175.This is the big block about 800cc bigger than the DF140 and should have lots of punch like the looper I am replacing. A 150 hp Ocean Pro which is on a hydraulic jackplate.Except I won,t need to own an oil refinery to run it.
I have searched and can,t find the transom size. The new motor is a 25" and so is the old Evinrude. I probably will need to remove the jackplate because the new 4 stroke is about 90 lb heavier than the old 2St. Is a 25" the recomended size for my hull? (19'6 Aquasport 200 year 1997 center console)anyone know the max weight on the transom? I have already placed the batteries and oil tank in the console.

You could always measure... ? I'm not sure what the max weight is on your transom, someone else will have to pipe in on that. You'll love your new motor ;) . Be prepared for your scuppers to be good and submerged.

I would like to measure but I am in Canada for the summer and my boat is at a winter home we own in Tampa

I have a 85 222ccp with a Suzuki dt225 on it. Its a 2 stroke and a bit lighter. My ID plate says my boat can go to a 245 hp motor, did you check your plate and maybe the weight of a 2 stroke engine of the maximum size against your motor weight? my engine weighs in at 485 lbs and makes my boat low in the stern at idle. I sure do like my fuel injected 2 stroke.
I have heard a lot of good things about suzuki since I changed motors from a johnny.

The hull has been rated at 150 to 185 hp in different years I have a 150 Evinrude Ocean Pro on it now with a hydraulic jackplate the engine weighs about 385 plus the plate probably 50. The Suzi weighs about 485. I am not worried about the extra power the looper is very powerful but THIRSTY looking foreward to smoother, quieter, more economical operation.I,m trying to discover if the scuppers will end up submerged. Anyone with a 200 plus hp 2 stroke on a 19.6? your engine weight is probably close to what I am looking at doing.

Well, w/ my DF140 @ 420lbs, the scuppers are submerged.

Then that probably answers the question . Are your batteries in the console?

Yes
