I'm in Miami and I am looking for a place to put an aluminum alloy plate to cover the transom. Any idea on where I can find one and the price?

I custom made mine out of a piece of 3/16 diamond plate that I happened to have in my garage. I made a template out manila office folders then transferred it to the plate and cut it with a cut off wheel. The top edge I had welded on at a local welding shop. Next, im going to have it annodized a nice blue. I have no idea who could make one for you. It dramatically stiffened the transom. Im hoping it will be enough to buy me a few years out of a mild transom fix before I have to rip her apart big time.

I think I found a place. My transom is solid, but I am repowering with a 96 130 so I want to make sure the transom is solid.

I don't think I'd bother with the metal - a 110/115 weighs around 320, a 130 won't weigh all that much more. Maybe it was a larger head but shouldn't weigh too much more. Look it up on NADA.
Your transom should be fine. Putting metal across the transom is usually an "Alert" that something is wrong with the transom to anyone that knows about boats.
That 130 should push that boat along quite well I'd bet - 45 ish or better. My 115 will just hit 40.

yes the Mercury 125 is 348, the 90 four stroke is 369/380, NADA has the 130 at 356... Not much difference
