I have a 1968 22-2 Flatback for 26 years & would like to find a 20 CCP for my son. What years was this boat produced?

The experts will have to chime in, but I do know the 200 CCP was not produced nearly as long as the 222 CCP. I think the 200 CCP was made in the time frame from about 1978 to 1987? I have a 1981 200 CCP and love it :!:

Do you want a 200CCP project boat or a finished boat. I Found this project boat when I was looking for info on 200CCP I was given. I have not seen the boat in person. After looking at the console, my first guess would be this is a 1979 not a 1989. The second boat looks a little better IMO.

Both the 200CCps listed at Lanier Marine are trashed! One was sunk in Katrina, and the other one that looks good, has actually had a crane crash into the port-side gunnels. If you ask Lanier Marine will send you more updated pictures of what the crane did. If not I may still have them on my computer. Just a heads up so you do not waste any time on those boats.

If you're looking for a cheap way into a fine boat and rebuilding it is not a problem, a sunken boat should not scare you away. You're going to gut it anyway and what do you need to rewire on the hull - nav and running lights - maybe bilge pumps? Only wood in the boat is the sole and the transom. Test the transom, it may be fine. The stringers can be "de-foamed" and reused. Everything else is fiberglass.
If you want a CCP, which is a limited production and a whole lot more boat than an Osprey, go for it - I know I would.

Thanks for the heads up on the GA boats. Rebuilding does not scare me. I rebuilt my 1968 22-2 Flatback a short while ago. I'll never part with it.Now I would like to find a 20 CCP to rebuild with my son for him. My buddy had one & sold it to a friend of mine a few years ago, before I was ready for it. Shoulda, woulda, coulda,...too late. He won't give it up.

No problem. The I know about the damage to both of the boats is that my best friend looked for a 20CCP for almost a year. He finally found one to restore that was in good shape but it took a lot of searching. Both boats in Georgia are IMHO no rebuildable. Both have damage that is would require extensive work. The sunken boat has a hole in the side of it if I remember correctly, from a forklift running into it. Both boats have lots of parts that are useable, including the coffin boxes. We actually comtemplated buying one so that we cold have additional original pieces if we needed them. Hope this helps. Once we get the 20CCP done I will post some pictures. I guess I should post some pictures of my 1979 22CCP that is already done too!

Thank you for letting me join this post. I am Kaptain Koz, my boat is named "captain Koz"... for some reason ClassicAquasport would not let me use that name... maybe someone has it? Dont know. Well anyways, I am a proud new owner (since aug 08) of a 1978 200CCP and I have to tell you I love this boat. I highly recommend it to anyone that is primarily into fishing. I have set mine up with rodholders galore. The high, vertical gunnels are thigh high for a good lean with a net to bring in that 40" striper. Im a bit foggy on some of the models and years, but my 1978 has a great anchor cubby in the bow which some models have an open bow with no cubby. I have also noticed that some models have a "step up" on the deck near the bow. The 78 200 ccp does not. The flat floor seems to me to be more convienient. The rod holders in the gunnels are awesome providing you drill holes in them and lace them vertically with small diameter bungee cord to keep the rods in place. The rear of the 78 has port and starbord battery compartments with a transom live well in between them just below the motor. I have relocated the batteries under the console for weight distribution and safety which has left the battery compartments as great storage. As a winter project I am going to make a removable fiberglass bait tub which will sit in the port side opening so I dont have anymore buckets floating around the deck. In the transom livewell I have added a brass drain in the floor which will drain right into the bilge. You cant go too big with motors without the self bailing deck scuppers being submerged. Mine came with a 86 evinrude 225 which is excessive in weight and power (what was the former owner thinking???) I have countered the weight issue by changing out the scuppers to ones that have a one-way flap built into them. I also bought a 88 175 which will go on as soon as I sell the 225, thus saving me 100lbs off the transom. I also installed hatches in the gunnels just a bit stern side of the existing storage openings. They are perfect for bumper storage being I the the bumpers to the grab rail. It is a great boat. I highly recommend the 1978, flat floored, vertical gunnelled 200ccp to anyone. I will

No need to get nasty! We just like to think of ourselves as "sophisticated Aqua owners" :rabbit: unlike the Osprey/Flatback skinny water runnin' Philistines that make up the majority of this eclectic group. :roll: I will say this though, if you want to do any kind of repair or re-build, these are the guys you need to talk to. :salut:

I recently purchased a 1981 20ccp does any one know fuel capacity the brochure says 50 gal. but the drawing says 73 gal. The guy I bought it from thought it was 80 gal. Looks to be all original.
