Title: Anyone need decals?
Post by: CajunSportsman on May 07, 2005, 03:13:49 PM
I'm having new hull decals printed.  My supplier is using premium vinyl and can do any size and just about any color.  I'm about to do the original size hull decals (32") and a smaller 6" decal for my console.  The hull decals are around $50 a set but I can get a price break if I order in quantity.  Let me know if you need any.

Here are some examples of what I'm having done...

If you want the files to send to your printer just download these:

The actual size file (in EPS format) for my 222 CCP hull:
http://www.cajunsportsman.com/classicaquasport/aquasport_logo.eps

A smaller EPS file that prints on a 8.5'11" page:
http://www.cajunsportsman.com/classicaquasport/aquasport_small.eps

The original file in CorelDraw:
http://www.cajunsportsman.com/classicaquasport/aquasport_logo.cdr

Your print shop will want the big EPS file if possible so burn it to a CD or just e-mail them the link. The logo has "222CCP" in it, so if you want that out, they can just delete it. Most importantly, make sure they use PREMIUM vinyl.

If you use these, just drop me a note and let us see the pics so we can geek out.

Seriously, let me know how they came out. Enjoy!

I am very interested! My decals are 30% scratched away. How can I order some?

Are you looking to just replace the original hull decals?  If so, do me a favor and measure DIAGONALLY from the far left edge of the decal (the lower left edge of the A, to the right edge of the cross on the t.  Tell me what size you have.  I'm assuming that all of them are the same size but I'm not sure.  When I took my decals off and wet sanded the hull, I can still see a faint outline where the originals were and I want to make sure the new decals are exact so there's no underlying outline.  Also, what color do you want?  I think I can match the original teal and original blue.

If anyone else out there is planning to replace your decals at some point in the future, let me know so we can get a better price...  Trying to place my order later this week.

I took a measurement this morning, but I guess I am not very good at following directions  I measured from the outside edge of the "A" to a line from the outside of the circle "R". The length was 33 1/2 inches. I measured horizontally, not vertically. I will do a verticle measurement tonight and post it for you tomorrow.

My 222 has brown decals, the stock stripes are orange and brown. I am not sure what color I want to go with, I am considering painting the boat and changing the color. I may save the paint job for next spring, the fish are calling me so I want to finish my transom job and get the boat in the water where it belongs.

Is there any way to post or send the graphic files. If I had them I could have my sign shop make them up.
Thanks,
Mike

Does anyone have a sample (.jpg, .gif) of the decals used on the 1985 osprey 170?
The graphic files posted by CajunbSportsman are very good.  Are thy the same as the ones I need?  The decal on my boat were removed sometime ago, and I´d like to have some 6" ones done for my console.

And another thing..  I had the smaller versions done in the frosted/reversed decals that you put inside glass for the etched look and put them on the sides of my windshield- they came out great.  They look awesome.  I'll post some pics soon.

Thanks, CajunSportsman!

My transom rebuild is far enough along that I am just a few days away from painting!

After painting comes motor mounting, trim tabs etc.

Then decals, followed by launching! Then maybe fishing! :D

I will be using Interlux Perfection. Last weekend I put on my first coat of two part epoxy primer. I am now doing some additional fairing. One more coat of primer followed by two or more coats of Perfection should do it.

Since I am doing the paint job and transom replacement in my driveway and I do not have spray equipment I will to the roler and brush tip off technique. I hope it works!

Rutman

I have copies of the files. They are in some weird format and very large so they take some time to download.

The sign shop that made my decals did a great job with these files.

If you want the files just email me at DEFIANT222CCP@comcast.net I'll be glad to send them to you.

Guy's it's not that difficult.
CajunSportsman posted a .jpg file right on this thread.
Right click on it a save to what ever file you save to.
Then go to that file and send it to a floppy or a disc.
Carry the disc with the .jpg file to your local vinyl sign shop. Give them the file, pick the color and tell them to make XYZ length. 33in if that what you want.
That's all you have to do except pay them.
It's that simple.
I took this file on a disc to them.

I carried one of the alum disc's with me. They laid the alum disc on a piece of paper and traced the outline and the bolt holes.
I told them to give me one right hand and one left hand shark to fit them.

This is how they came out. :)

That's a backing plate that goes to my ladder's.

I don't see the .jpg file on the thread.  Can anyone E-mail them to me?  Mine are pretty shot.  I've been gong over them with black permanent markers every year.  Thanks.

The file is very large and will take some time to download.

Good luck!

Reviving this old thread - haven't heard much from Cajun lately, hope all is well.  I'll be replacing the logos on the 230 soon and wanted to download the files (which I did).  The thread says that the files are .eps and when I click on the link, the files that are downloadable are .ps  .  Are these the same files?  Will the sign shop be able to use them the same as the .eps?

eps = encapsulated post script
ps= AutoCad post script

I don't know the answer but probably.

If you can get them for $50 or less, count me in for a set of them in original Teal.  Thanks!
