Well I finally pulled my fuel tank on my 1987 222 express fisherman!
And just as everyone has said right under the strap there is 2 small areas that are corroding.
Was thinking of just having them welded but, I don't think that would give me the same peace of mind that a new tank would. Ive been looking around and the closest one I can find is a 55 gal from west marine.[I'm from Northern California]I'm not going to be going out the gate much so most of my time will be in the Sacramento delta area so I don't need 85 gal 55 or so would be fine.Any Ideas on model and or location would be appreciated.
Thanks as allways Carvguy

Moeller Marine 55 Gallon Belly Fuel Tank Below Deck, take a look at this one. Just do a search for it on google.

I am not thrilled with a plastic tank below deck - seen a few fail in no time on classicmako...
Have a tank built. I went to RDS in Perry, FL - but there are many fabricators that will be happy to build you a tank.

even including shipping Sunshine Marine in Florida was the cheapest I found and I compared about 10 local and non local shops to make a 150 gallon tank and 50 gallon tank for me. Also check out Ketfab Marine if you're local to new england.

we have had a plastic tank 85 gallons in our Four Winns with no problem.
Try www.boatingchannel.com (http://www.boatingchannel.com) They have some real REASONABLE tanks for sale. We replaced our Aquasport 17' with an 18 gallon tempo.

The 222 XF uses the same tank as the CCP - 85 gallons. Phil at Alloy Metal works custom made mine in a week for $650. Pics and info at:

Why would anyone consider going back to aluminum if they fail over time, ie:
corrosion issues. That's why I think it would be better to go with a composite. I'm in the process of changing mine over now and I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the whole aluminum thing.

Found out recently that Tempo is out of business. If anyone is considering composite it looks like it will have to be Moeller.
