just a quick  follow up to my above question
OutboardRebuild.com
sent my powerhead there on the 29th of oct and seem to be getting the run around ever since
1.     was told the have the fastest turn around 3-5 days (almost a month now)

2.  any phone calls made where by me not one call from them pretaning to anything

3. money was sent weeks ago by western union so there not waiting on personal check to clear

4 have been told for the last 5 days that we are just waiting for r and l carriers to pick it up

5  so here i am just waiting to me no matter how good the powerhead was rebuilt i would never have a good thing to say about this place because of the service (god help me if something goes wrong and i have to send ot back)

maybe just venting but geez what the hell
and why is it nobody on the west coast seems to work on powerheads every shop or dealer tells me the send them back east
..........................thanks for hearing my rant................Bob...

NOPE....................talked to them this morning they said it was shipped sometime in the last few days couldnt tell me what day tho?????????
they gave me a tracking number for the carrier ,,,but, it dosnt work
man o man is this frustrating
havent been out on the ocean since labor day when this whole thing first started
had to resort to my smaller boat (18 Nitro bass boat)just to get some fishing time in ....freshwater only though ...missed the rest of the albacore run
they did say it should be here thursday just have to wait and see
the only other option i have is to jump in my truck and haul arse for three days and get it myself....................Bob

well i got my powerhead back today ..hurray...........but wait..... why is it upsidedown on the pallet? called them they said they had sent it flywheel up..........soooooo must have been bounceing around all the way from florida to california.............just great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have not had a chance to check it out yet because of the pouring rain decied it was a better idea to get a 12 pack and sit and stair at it ......

well just another nail in my big white floating coffin

put the power head on could only find one problem from the shipping mishap , bent timing mark so that was good it only took about an hour to install so that was good
took it on up to local lake to try it...... tryed to fire one time then the stater started to make some odd sounds ...just great
got home called around to see if i could find one no luck...... every place said not in stock will be 3 to 7 days and 350 bucks..........so i get on the ole internet and start searching ....found a place in Louisiana(aftermarket marine)... instock
2 day air brand new 200 bucks so that was good....
two days latter i recieve my starter........brand new in the box
1992 mercury 120 jet drive starter..just great ............................................my boat has a 1997 200 johnson.......soooooo once again thought it was a good idea to get a 12 pack and stair at it in hopes the boat elfs would come to my rescue
called them they told me they messed up by one number last number on the one i got was 0 should have been a 1 ..they would be sending correct one overnight will get it on friday......well its saturday and no starter ...called them today via there 800 # and this guy who was really rude told me to call them tommorow he couldnt help me with anything today ...........I just dont get it tommorow being sunday they could help me but not today saturday??????????????????????????????
I must be the luckest guy on earth.......................................

Well  .... it is a boat, you know.
Title: Starter
Post by: GoneFission on December 09, 2007, 12:06:34 PM
Hey, what's the problem?  You really don't NEED a starter - just rope start that 200!     This guy's 200 outboard starter quit years ago - he's been rope starting the whole time:

well maybe i can use that guy to shake down the pepole at aftermarket so they will send me that darn starter :D
told me today (tues) that the thing will be here on thurs... was not in stock something they could of said on thurs last week
i find it hard to belive that i could find the same type of customer service again :x
is it just me or are we not allowed to get an honest answer from some one we are paying a service for???????? or is it just the way they do bussiness on the east coast
(pay your money and we will help you when we get around to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
i cant see how these pepole keep getting work...oh yea pepole like me who expect to get they things they pay for

Yeah, I just had a bad experience with OutboardRebuild.com in Florida.  I dealt with the owner, Jimmy Parise.

He bought my boat (1986 Shadow) on eBay and lied to my for a week and a half. He kept saying that he'll come up and get it tomorrow.. Or that he'll send someone up within the next couple of days.

I called him almost daily and got the same answers.. "I want to come get that tomorrow or the day after."

I'm in Pennsylvania, so maybe he didn't want to drive 16 hours to get a boat.  He should've thought of that before he bid.

The last time I talked to him, he wanted my bank account number and routing number so he could "wire" me some money.  I told him i'd rather go through Paypal or CASH when he picks it up..  I never heard from him again.

What a way to run a business.

I know this was my old post but........

When I got my motor back after the first rebuild in the two months after I had to purchase a new power pack vro and flywheel and starter(that I wrote about in this post) to replace the ones he sent on my motor. Wonder if he did the ole switch a ro back then?
This whole deal just sucks!
