Title: 22' CCP FLOOR REBUILD: POSSIBLE COST..??
Post by: NIGHTIDES on October 28, 2007, 08:54:42 PM
Just found a 22'CCP w/ a perect hull exterior and the most solid transom I have seen. The one problem area are the soft / spongy areas of almost the whole deck.

What might the $cost$ be for someone to replace and redo the entire deck..?? I wish I could undertake it but cannot at the present time.

Thanks for you comments.

Is the whole deck soft, or mainly the center panel over the gas tank?  CCPs had word-core for the center panel, and it often rots, delaminates, and/or gets soft.  Decks are not wood cored and have less problems.

A deck replacement is not a huge job, but the tank tub has to be molded into the decking.  The rest is pretty straightforward.  I would not use wood for redecking, but would opt for one of the composite core materials.

Hope this helps - good luck!

The whole deck has soft spots throughout. The boat was previously stored w/ the transom higher than the bow and the rain water collected in the cockpit for long time. This is how the softness problem developed I think.

Rest of the hull is mint. Costs..???
