Title: Transforming a 222 I/O to an Outboard
Post by: The Bear on September 30, 2007, 12:33:08 PM: How is the diffuculity on a I/O rebuild compared to that of the, uh...let's say, "flatback" rebuild? Meaning transforming it into an outboard. Well.....other than patching up a few more holes? :lol:

I don't anticipate it would be that much more work, might even make the work a little easier? I dunno. Please let me know if I am thinking about this totally wrong. Thanks!

Post by: slippery73 on September 30, 2007, 02:03:04 PM: Its easier in my opinion, but i prefer a full transom. You either need a outboard bracket or a porta bracket with the full height transom. Good news is you wont ever worry about getting swamped.

I would be putting on a porta-bracket or para-lift.

Post by: The Bear on September 30, 2007, 07:09:01 PM: I thought so. I didn't read what you wrote right. I just re-read it and I understand what you were saying now. I'll make whatever I buy a full transom so I cna put a bracket on it. I won't do it any other way.
