I have to say this is one of the coolest sites ever!! I'm glad I stumbled across it on Florida Sportsman's website.
I have a 1978 19.6' foot open fishermans with flat back, and man is this boat versitile. I fish in really shallow water <1ft, and I can fish off shore as well. However, the only thing that sucks are live bait wells. I have one sticks off my stern, but it is tiny. I was thinking of converiting the dry storage on the bow over to live bait wells. Has anyone done this before, or does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Those transom-mounted baitwells are like gold. If you don't want it, you won't have any trouble at all finding someone on the site who does.

Welcome aboard!
I think that you could find a better solution to your baitwell woes than converting that storage into one. Something like a leaning post with a well in/under it.

I have the same boat almost and have a livewell underneath the seat that's in front of the console.

Sorry, it's all I have so I can't get rid of it yet, but I need at least three times more space.

I used to run with a guy in Miami who built his own leaning post livewell combo. It was a 35 gal oval tank. Sure did hold alot of bait. He also had the stern boxes and he did what I did on my 17' and converted them into storage. You definatley have alot of options for that style of live well if you build your own or buy.
