Title: Transducer painted
Post by: Irish Rover on May 01, 2007, 08:32:31 AM
Does anyone know the best way to get bottom paint off a transducer?  The previous owner must have painted it because everything else on the depth sounder works great.

any help would be apprectiated.

Peel-Away stripper should work.  I'd stay away from strippers containing methylene chloride solvent since it will attack plastic, epoxy and polyester.

What Jim said.

If you have to have it painted, they sell a transducer paint for keeping growth off.
