Look at this 1971 Evinrude Catalog.  A flatback with 3 men on board and only a 125 on the transom.  All the guys that have 150s on their boats would do rings around them.  Now everybody talks about 300 hp outboards when the biggest Evinrude made in 1971 was a 125.  Amazing.

Did you read about the shifter?  Guess it didn't make it, but sounds slick in the ad.

I've got two of them, one from a '66 Starflite 100 hp and one from a 63' Lark V 40hp.

I know that this seems very stupid but I have not seen either working.  The 100 hp came off of my grandfather's wooden Grady White which rotted away a few years ago.  With a little work that engine may run again.  The 40 hp is still on a 1962 Cruisers Inc. wooden boat, but I need to work on both the boat and the engine.  The push buttons are stuck on both of the controllers.

Maybe they need battery power to "unstick" them?

My Dad had a 40HP w/ electric shift. I remember running the boat with it.

It has sloniods in the foot to make it work. I remember Dad having to replace them.
