Has anyone ever separated the top from the bottom to as to not cit floor out?

We have a couple rebuilds using that process. You have to cut along the top of the transom, usually on the outside of the transom. Then remove the 8000 screws attaching the cap to the top of the hull (under rubrail). then from what I remember you start at the front and pry the cap and liner with a 2x4 to help break the seal of the bonding putty between the stringers and the underside of the deck. Then you go to the aft and pry along the top of transom and repeat from the front, etc. Also you'll need an A-frame with chain fall type hoist.

Gotcha spund like alot more than jus cutting out the floor.

Yup, but if you can get it out and recore from the bottom, it's a nicer rebuild.
