Title: Gas Spring for bow seat hatch 2003 Osprey Sport 215

Does anyone know the correct part number for the gas spring that holds up the bow seat hatch cover on a 2003 Osprey Sport 215. When I purchased the boat used an Ameritool Gas Spring P/N 2206-5785 was installed. It did not hold up the cover. After contacting Ameritool, they advised their part numbers changed and provided me with the new part number for the same spring. This one also does not hold up the hatch, leaving me to believe the wrong spring may have been installed in the boat when I purchased it. If there are 2003 Osprey Sport 215 owners out there, can you check the part number on a functioning spring and advise? Many thanks and I welcome any other suggestions or feedback.
