Title: Planning on buying a 1999 aquasport 215. What to look for?

I am planning on buying a 1999 aquasport 215 with Johnson 200. What should I be looking for? Price is 11500.

At almost 25 years old lots of stuff will be just plain worn out, make a list of what’s working. Lights ,pumps etc. The motor is the main thing if original it could be a money pit.

I have the same year, model.  It’s a solid boat, built well..  Traded the Johnson for a new Suzuki. .Look for soft spots in the deck (can be repaired, but a lot of work). Most everything can be replaced/repaired.  Motor is the main thing….but those 2 strokes will last a long time….just have to deal with the smoke and fuel/oil expense.   Treat the fuel with a conditioner each fill up and a de carb treatment in the fuel tank every so often…avoid carbon build up.

Did the same,ditched the old smoker,got a Suzuki……..
