Hi All,
I'm a college student away from my 1972 196 looking for a new trailer. Does anyone know the Bow eye to transom measurement? Excited because I found a screaming deal on a 3 year old Venture VATB-4225 from a private seller. Minimum bow eye to transom is 17'6 for the model.
Cheers

I’d say it’s no more than 17’ to the eye. Seems like 6” wouldn’t make that big of a difference.

Based on memory I think the eye is about a foot closer to the transom than the front of the cap. Look at this pic

Usually the boat hangs off the end of the bunks a little. If you want the boat to be totally supported you can get new longer bunks. The way I'm reading the specs of the trailer it has a 7+' variable for the hull/boat length it can handle.

Thanks for the responses. I was able to convince a friend to measure for me. It's exactly 18' if anyone is curious. Purchased the trailer.
