Title: pmatt 222 restoration
Post by: pmatt on September 14, 2019, 10:52:37 AM
Im restoring a 1971 22'2". Plan is to raise the floor 2", completely re-wire boat, new console, close in transom, add full width bracket, re power with the new F200 Yamaha 4 cylinder.
Would like any advice on moving the new fuel tank forward and how far?
Is a 2" floor raise about right amount?
Any general comments from owners who have done all or parts of this process welcome.

Welcome. I'll chime in here. When I did mine I moved the tank forward a solid two feet or so because I knew I would be adding a good amount of weight to the back. I also raised the floor 2 1/2" using a PVC post that I ripped in half. I then wrapped it in four layers of 1700 and tabbed it down to the stringer top with epoxy. It is very solid and leaves room to run wires if need be. Check out the first few pages of my rebuild.

Good luck
